Garden Club Meeting Notes, January 22, 2024

Hi everyone,

We had a productive Garden Club meeting yesterday, and we wanted to bring those who couldn't attend up to speed!

Meeting Highlights:
  • We welcomed a new member who raised some important concerns about inclusivity and collaboration. We're committed to ensuring everyone feels heard and involved.
      • We're making progress on the site plan! We need your creative input on specific plants and volunteer gardeners. Please submit your ideas here.  We are aiming to restore a cohesive landscaping design to the grounds and therefore must review all requests for plantings and discuss with the management office and HOA board (while working within our limited/non-existent budget). But we do want your input to guide future planning when possible!
  • We discussed last year's successes and brainstormed fresh ideas for 2024.
  • Action Items:
    • We'll finalize a budget proposal with the MDA office (thanks, Milli!).
    • Compile a building layout to guide our garden zones.
    • Julie will bring inspiring paver design options.
    • Let's pinpoint and prioritize specific garden areas.
    • Phil, you're a hero! Please measure the courtyard's "dead zone."
    Your Input Matters!

To ensure everyone feels involved and has a chance to contribute, we've put together a quick survey: [Survey Link Here]. Please share your thoughts on:
    • How you'd like to participate in the club this year (gardening, events, fundraising, etc.)
    • Your favorite garden experiences from last year
    • Any suggestions for new projects or activities
The survey takes just a few minutes and your feedback is invaluable in shaping the club's future. We want you to be part of this exciting journey!

Thanks to everyone who attended the meeting and contributed their ideas. We can't wait to hear from the rest of you and work together to create a beautiful and engaging garden!

P.S. Remember, there's always room for more green thumbs! If you know anyone who might be interested in joining the club, please spread the word!
